ANDE-ANDE LUMUT
Long ago in East Java, there stood twin kingdoms
namely Jenggala, which was ruled by King Jayanegnegara, and Kediri, whose king
was Jayengrana. The kingdoms were once united under Kahuripan. The king of
Kahuripan, Airlangga, before his death had a will that whatever happened, they
had to be together as one. So to avoid war, the kingdoms decided to reunite
through a marriage of the kings’ children. Panji Asmarabangun, son of
Jayengnegara, was married to Dewi Sekartaji, daughter of Jayengrana.
Once upon a time, Jenggala was attacked by a
large number of people. When the war broke out, Princess Dewi Sekartaji ran
away and hid out in a desolate village. She went in disguise as a village girl
and then served a wealthy widow called Nyai Intan. Nyai Intan had three
beautiful daughters, Kleting Abang, Kleting Ijo, and Kleting Biru. After a
while, she fostered Dewi Sekartaji and gave her the name of Kleting Kuning.
THE CRYING STONE
Up on a far away hill in Borneo, there lived a poor widow and her
arrogant daughter. She was very pretty, but her behaviour was far from good.
The girl was lazy. She never helped her mother doing the house works, but
always busy preening her self each and everyday. She was really spoiled that
everything she asked for had to be given. Evertime she asked for something to
her mother, she forced her to grant it for her. She didn’t care about her
mother’s pain of working day and night only for getting something to eat,
Synchronic and Diachronic
What is Synchronic
and Diachronic?
In aspects of language study,
there are 2 kinds of the aspects. There are The Synchronic and Diachronic
Aspects. In (Wikipedia) the Synchrony and Diachronic are two different and
complementary viewpoints in linguistic analysis:
- A diachronic approach considers the development and evolution of a language through history. The word is built on the Ancient Greek words δια "through" and χρόνος "time". Historical linguistics is typically a diachronic study.
- A synchronic approach considers a language without taking its history into account. The word is built on the Ancient Greek words συν "with" and χρόνος "time". Synchronic linguistics aims at describing language rules at a specific point of time, even though they may have been different at an earlier stage of the language. School grammar typically uses a synchronic (as well as prescriptive) approach.
